Bart Janssens of AIM draws a construction with Il Cielo in Kasterlee, a structure that boldly questions the epithet 'building'. When the project does not yet have a specific interpretation, he bases the design on other than purely practical aspects in order to optimally facilitate future various functions. This creates a fascinating two-way communication with the environment. The design aesthetically claims its place, bundles the local characteristics into one unique formal icon that is prominently present on the one hand and yet modestly positioned between the inspiring natural elements on the other.
Kasterlee, the pearl of the Kempen, has gained an architectural pearl that transcends a provincial town in several respects.
This building is anything but a compromise. It shows courage, but also and above all vision.
