Hangar 26-27 - Antwerp (BE) Cladding Padoek

Hangar 26-27 - Antwerp (BE)

About this project

Paulussen supplies its innovative facade system Forestlines for the most impressive renovation project of 2022.
Hangar 26-27 on the Scheldt quays (near the MAS) will become the landmark on the Scheldt in terms of innovation, circularity, etc.

Almost 50,000 m1 of padouk beams have been delivered to be mounted in prefab panels by the customer.
The wood is FSC100% and fully processed in-house.

The intended fire class was easily achieved in END-USE by using the principles of our innovative Forestlines system. In order to achieve the intended result of the architect, some serious technical puzzles had to be done in order not to see the possibilities of the raw materials as a limitation.
Another set-up with equivalent results was designed for this purpose.
Slightly different shape, but almost all defining points of the Forestlines have been integrated.

As Nextensa itself describes it:

The iconic building Hangar 26/27 is located on the Eilandje in Antwerp, with a direct view of the Scheldt on the one hand and the MAS (Museum aan de Stroom) on the other.
The Danish architectural firm CF Moller has meanwhile been appointed by Leasinvest Real Estate as architect for the elaboration of a high-quality mixed project, with an extension of offices and retail, paying particular attention to the accessibility between the private spaces and the public space of the quays.

Which professionals in the construction industry play the innovation card?
Limeparts-Drooghmans – Nextensa NV – MBG – CFMoller - Faktor30
